Coimbra receives 5th edition of the Annual Forum of Portuguese Graduates

The city of Coimbra will host the 5th edition of the Annual Forum of Portuguese Graduates Abroad – GraPE 2016 – next Wednesday, December 28th. The Coimbra City Council and the University of Coimbra support this edition.

This year the GraPE intends to promote reflection and discussion on the national and international perspectives available to Portuguese graduates, in the current scenario, anticipating the future of the labor market.

With an international dimension, this is a unique initiative in Portugal that gathers Portuguese graduates distributed around the world inviting them to share professional experiences and exchange ideas that contribute to our country growing in new opportunities as new networks of contacts are created or Maintained between this diaspora.

The forum is the result of a partnership between the AGRAFr (Association des Diplômés Portugais en France), ASPPA (Portuguese Postgraduate Association in Germany), PAPS (Portuguese American Postgraduate Society) and PARSUK (Portuguese Association of Researchers and Students In the UK).

The “GraPE2016 – Thinking Portugal in Territories of the Future” follows the previous talks, including: ‘Paths in Science: Diversity against Adversity’ held in Lisbon in 2012; ‘Scientific Migrations: Going and Going Back’, held in Porto in 2013; “Portuguese without Borders: Creativity and Innovation”, which was held in Lisbon in 2014 and ‘RE: invent Portugal – Portuguese in and out’, which took place in Guimarães last year. Each of these events hosted around 150 participants.

Will be present prominent figures such as Ricardo Gonçalves, co-founder of Collectiv and Teamplay Ventures; Filipa Moraes, education consultant STEM, CEO of Clara Science, and Paulo J. Oliveira, principal investigator at the CNC and Vice President of the European Society for Clinical Investigation.

This year the forum will also have the presence of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic, Professor Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Doctor Augusto Santos Silva.
